Use of flexible working arrangements (FWAs) within the region was not catching on. The client requested an internal campaign to promote the policy. We discovered the rub: although the policy was beautifully crafted, no one believed that seeking an FWA wouldn’t negatively impact their career. We refocused the campaign as a toolkit to support managers in leveraging and evaluating FWAs. Goodies included: a training deck building the organization’s specific case for diversity and inclusion, and introducing management by objectives; change management strategies to support behavior change; and suggestions for competency model alignment, supporting frameworks and collateral, meetings-in-a-box, evaluation metrics, industry benchmarking.
